Make way for a new production : 176 Steps

The 2023-2024 season will mark the 50th anniversary of Théâtre de l’Œil. For this occasion, we have enlisted the prolific pen of author Fanny Britt to write an original story aimed at students in the first and second cycles.

Directed by Simon Boudreault and Marie-Josée Bastien, “176 pas” tells the story of Octave, a child who loves music and plays the piano wonderfully well, but feels so paralyzed by the fear of the unknown that he rarely leaves his home. For Delphine, it’s the opposite: she swims, fishes, explores, and works for her fishmonger parents. In her eyes, life is a perpetual adventure… except at school, which she avoids like the plague. One day, Delphine’s path will cross Octave’s, and an unlikely friendship will blossom between them.

A tender fable about the various faces of anxiety, “176 pas” celebrates above all the transformative power of friendship.

Thanks to the musical sensitivity of Ariane Moffatt and the scenographic and puppetry design of Loïc Lacroix Hoy and Richard Lacroix, “176 pas” will come to life next season in various cultural venues.
